Please don’t divide Arunachal in the name of tribes
Dear Editor,
The news under the headline "Khandu calls on centre for relaxation of Article 170 for accommodation of more ministers" does not make any sense in a state like Arunachal, where every time the Govt seems crying because of scarcity of fund for development.

No truth in allegation
Dear Editor,
The statement made by Dilip Rai against Baba Ramdev in your esteemed daily is condemned for he did it to meet his selfish end. It is a baseless and shameful act for the mankind in general and the people of India in particular to defame a person who works day in and day out all 365 days to make the life of other people better.
There was no truth in the allegations. Why it was published in a Daily of this part of India instead of Sikkim and Delhi. The news makes no sense that the people of Sikkim have lost faith in Baba Ramdeve after the visit.
I am very sorry that Dilip Chetry is intolerant towards growing popularity of Pranayam & Yog in every nook and corner of Sikkim. To brand yog a mere donation collecting activity, is to disrespect our revered yogis like Maharshi Patanjali, Lord Buddha, Mahabir, Baba Ramdev to name a few. In mathematics there is no number as hefty and is self explanatory for his validity. Nor I have ever heard of any case pending against the chief minister in Supreme Court of India.
It is expected that Dilip Chetry would give correct account of the happenings; otherwise he has no right to misguide the right thinking and rational citizen of India.

Unless the mind is without fear
Dear Editor,
Apropos the editorial "Corporal Punishment" (16 June), a society is best judged by the way it treats its children. The beastly practice of corporal punishment not only results in grave injuries and even death to students, many innocent little ones start suffering from Didaskalcinophobia ( fear of going to school), thereby affecting the career of the children. Many children get psychologically shattered forever or take resort to suicidal steps.
It is high time the teachers act as true well-

However in Arunachal Pradesh, civil society bodies are noticeably absent and those few present also does not have their own independent voice. Taking advantage of this weakness, every now and then some new groups comes up with their own way of pressurizing government, claiming to be representative of masses. They come up with some issues and there will be series of bandh calls, dharnas etc. demanding fulfillment of their wishes. By the time ordinary citizens tries to understand what really is the matter, issues dies a natural death and groups vanishes in thin air, till they find another new issue to pressurize government.
